I learned to read at age two and a half. I have always loved books, the feel of them, the smell of the print, the fabulous illustrations. I would happily live in a library. I have many shelves groaning under the strain of books.
I also have a Kindle with approximately 200 books on it for when I go to the Doctor or for hospital appointments etc and there is a long waiting period.... I have a choice of various subjects all on one handy device.
When my Mother passed on, she left hundreds of books which we took to various charity shops, not one shop wanted them... "people don't really read books that much anymore" we were told.
What a shame, books are so much more descriptive than films etc, they transport one to another world. One can learn so much from books.
I love all formats for reading, but books remain my favourite.
