Zinedine Zidane estimates that Bayern Munich will try to muster a brilliant performance to reverse the lag from the first leg and reach the Champions League final at home to Real Madrid on Tuesday (2/5) tonight.
The defending champion, seeking to claim his third successive trophy, is favored to earn a ticket to Kiev after recording a 2-1 win at Munich last week. However, Zidane and Real Madrid have been the victims of the revival of Bayern Munich after going through similar situations in the quarter-finals last season.
They also took a 2-1 lead from the first leg at the Allianz Arena, but the Bundesliga giants forced the match into extra time in the Spanish capital before collapsing 4-2 after Arturo Vidal red carded in the 84th minute.
"We know that they will come here and try to show a brilliant performance," said Zinedine Zidane in a press conference ahead of the game. "They are a great club and a great team.We know what to expect, that's why we need to prepare well and also show our best performance."
"If we are able to do so we can achieve a lot of great things but I have no doubt that Bayern Munich will come here without any difficult effort in any way, which will give them a brilliant performance."
"The key to us, and all we have to do is think about winning the game, about entering the field with the desire to do that.We need to score quick goals and that's what we'll do."
