Never trust anyone with a powerful position because for anyone to be in such a position, they have to have plenty of red in the ledger. There are no such things as friends in the corporate structure; there are just enemies, allies, and peons/pawns.
poker and chess can prepare you to play some of the biggest power games in your life
powerful people (administers and execs) tend to be some of the most childish and petty people you will ever encounter. It's best to approach them with humility or find yourself in the middle of a ‘conspiracy’ that will leave you in a mental and emotional wreck.
there is no such thing as capitalism because as soon as you start to capitalize, some monopoly comes along and tries to take over your hard-earned Boardwalk.
secrecy and confidentiality will save you many a headaches. The longer you stay in the corporate world, the more twisted your conscience can become.
never announce your plans and intentions, and never make idle threats that you are incapable of carrying out immediately. In some corporations, like the American government, doing either of the afformentioned could be hazardous to your health, not to mention your career.
become a master of misdirection and deciet. Getting a good bit of psychology under your belt couldn't hurt either. If you have a weak will or need approval from others, you're already finished before the starter pistol goes off in the corporate world. If you are a peon or ass kisser (or blow jobber), even if you do rise up the ladder, your stay at the top of the food chain will be brief and tumultuous.
being in any type of arena where you have to constantly stay on your toes' mentally’ is not good for your hair or you health. Expect to go bald or gray early, and expect for your urine to smell of coffee and your choice of substance (that you either use or abuse to stay sane).
corporate business is nothing but politics…its all about money, power, and control and making all the right move to keep that power and control by whatever means necessary. The corporate business is a Beast. It never ceases to amaze me that there are people who are foolish enough to play silly games in such a vicious arena.
The corporate world belongs to the tigers. Lions are just too loud, clumsy, and obvious to make it in the jungle of corporate power. The corporate world is not about show and tell. It's about letting your actions do the talking when everyone thought there was nothing left to be said.
If you like power games, war, pulling rabbits out of hats (when you've lost the hat itself), or just the feeling of humiliating others just because you can, the corporate/ political arena is eagerly awaiting your arrival!
