You might not notice it, but you are waking up in a new world every day. In deep sleep you let go of everything, and the world changes to reflect your latest actions, convictions and state of mind. This constantly happens throughout the day, but even more so from day to day.
The desire to escape reality comes for the same reason we love remote controls. Nothing is easier than a fresh start, changing the channel, hoping we land on a better experience. But the joy of restarting lasts but a moment, until we realize we have to start all over again, again. Looking only for an escape will get you nowhere. The true assignments required to finish your training in this world cannot be transferred to another school. And it’s better to be a few steps in, if not more, than restarting with a new set of challenges, now completed with the track record of inconsistence and lack of discipline.
Fearing the complexities of your current state is natural, but you will gain nothing by restarting all over again. You may always seek an escape, but no true escape is possible except for surrender. You may kill yourself a thousand times, only to find the quest is harder to accomplish.
It is mostly appealing to forget the world, just as we love to sleep so much. And of course the creator is happy we find this so challenging, as nothing would be more self-defeating than a challenge too easy. But the battle cannot be truly waged with our eyes closed, or without having a physical body to limit our expansion and force us to learn the balance between earth and sky.
Embrace this world with open arms and surrender. Remember you are nothing but an actor, with the director unseen. Free yourself from the burdens you carry and set the load down, the train is moving all the same.
When you stop trying to run away, you will see all the troubles stop trying to hunt you down.
Good Luck.
