Rebus [ENG] #4 - Contest with SBD to win!

in #rebus8 years ago (edited)

Guess the answer for this rebus (game rules below).

EDIT: The contest is over and no one guessed the official answer. 1 SBD was split between 4 replies officially recognized as alternative answers. Big thanks to all the participants! The solution (and some bonus) is available here.

Game rules:

  • The first person to find the official answer is the winner.
  • The winner receives 50% SBD from this post (or 1 SBD if the 50% would be less than that)
  • After 24 hours from the publishing of this post, the game ends and if no one guessed the answer, the prize will be unavailable - you can still guess for fun or click the link that I'll provide to see the answer
  • Resteem this post before the contest ends to receive 0.02 SBD - let me know in the comments that you reposted!
  • Alternative solutions are appreciated and may be rewarded with a special prize, but the official answer is required to become a winner

Read my post What is rebus? - examples that won't hurt you (no more) to learn about rebus puzzles and how to solve them.

EDIT - Three clues to help you going:

  1. @james-show pointed out correctly that the H on the picture is obvious. This letter is extremely important and other writings on the wall don't matter.
  2. The position of the letter H in the picture is very important.
  3. See this article for inspiration. The basic idea here is quite similar. The answer has 10 letters (sometimes written as one word and sometimes as two) and begins with H.

Have fun! 😃

Congratulations to @james-show, the winner of the previous edition. He said he was a first timer, but it turned out that he pretty quickly took a matter of providing nice rebuses to Steemit audience into his own hands. Check his profile for the puzzles. The first three are already solved, but I hope there will be more!

I would appreciate your feedback. Do you think that this rebus was too open for alternative solutions and that the official answer (published here) isn't any stronger than the alternative answers published in the comments? Thanks!

Hi! I am a content-detection robot. I found similar content by the same author:

Different puzzle, similar rules.

Thanks for the nice introduction @barcizs.
And yes, it was the first time for me to see/try to solve a rebus. But it felt right and more importantly fun.... and something I feel good on both sides (trying to solve and providing rebuses). Anyway, let see if the drive is there after 3 days, 6 weeks or 3-9 months.

Less than 11 hours left - a little clue to help you going:
@james-show pointed out correctly that the H on the picture is obvious. This letter is extremely important and other writings on the wall don't matter.

Second clue:
The position of the letter H in the picture is very important.

Third clue:
See this article for inspiration. The basic idea here is quite similar. The answer has 10 letters (sometimes written as one word and sometimes as two) and begins with H.

I feel pretty clueless with that one, so I will just fire a shot in the dark.
"Zero History"
Only because the only thing I can read on the wall of this somewhat "backwards facing" school room's wall is zero and I believe gg (or cg) Mail... and the obvious 'H'. 'H' that is very similar to the 'H' in the history channel font...or my crazy mind thinking it is similar.
......
Hench(ed)?

Unfortunately, "Zero History" isn't the official answer. I hope you'll try again! 🙂

A little clue is given in the comments and added to the post. 🙂

school )))

Little tricky in it's simplicity but makes perfect sense. Pretty good.

Well, I think it's past the deadline, but it's got to be "hoverboard"...

Never mind, I already saw that you had posted the solution in a different post, but I hadn't seen it before.

Well, I do think that my previous answer was on the spot as per what could be seen on the image, an H superimposed on a class(room), therefore: clash, or how you replied, The Clash ;) I'd even like to think that it was an even more fitting response than the intended one (maybe some subconscious slip on your part?), for the painted black area on the wall is a far stretch from a real blackboard, although I do get the idea that the whole thing should be somewhat difficult so that it's fun, but you created this rebus, you know what you intended to hide in the puzzle.

Thanks for the feedback!
