Beef Tofu
INGREDIENTS
quarter cup vegetable oil for frying
quarter cup cornstarch
one (sixteen ounce) package firm tofu
two tablespoons soy sauce
half cup orange juice
quarter cup warm water
one tablespoon sugar
one teaspoon chili paste
one teaspoon cornstarch
one tablespoon vegetable oil
two carrots
PROCESS
Heaten up quarter cup oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Put the quarter cup cornstarch in a pan for five minutes, or till golden brown on all sides. Strain tofu on paper towels. Allow pan to cool, and wipe clean.
In a bowl, stir the soy sauce, orange juice, water, sugar, chili paste, and cornstarch till soft.
Heat the remaining one tablespoon oil in the pan, and mix-fry the carrots till soft. Form a well in the center of the carrots, and fill in the sauce. Bring sauce to a boil. Stir tofu into the pan, and continue cooking till coated with the sauce.
