Today I will share with you how to make Palitaw balls with Yema Filling. These sweet, chewy delights are perfect for merienda or any special occasion.

Palitaw is a beloved part of Filipino food culture, representing a simple yet delicious treat that can be enjoyed on any occasion.

Ingredients:

Glutinous rice flour (also known as sweet rice flour)
Water
Grated coconut (fresh or desiccated)
Sugar

Yema (optional)

"First, we'll need our star ingredient: glutinous rice flour. This is what gives palitaw its signature chewy texture. We're going to combine it with water to form our dough."

(You slowly add water to the flour, mixing with your hands.)

Now, we'll shape our palitaw. We'll take a small portion of the dough with a small amount of yema.

"Like this. Now, we're ready to cook them!"

"We have our pot of boiling water here. Gently drop your palitaw into the water. And remember, they're done when they float!"

"Look! They're floating! That means they're perfectly cooked. We'll use a slotted spoon to remove them and let them drain."

you remove the cooked palitaw and place them on a plate.

"Now for the fun part: coating them! We have our grated coconut here..."

You roll the warm palitaw in the grated coconut and then, we'll sprinkle them with a mixture of sugar.
