Lets use some fresh greens in a fast and healthy pasta dish. The basil is going to seed already in this heat so I really do need to start using it.
I only have 1.5 basil plants and I don't want to stress them by stripping them bare so I used a few spinach leaves in the pesto also.
Ok, into the food processor goes garlic, some walnuts(most pestos call for pine nuts but I don't have any), salt&pepper-then the greens.
Pulse the blade a few times until it looks like thisish. Then slowly pour in some olive oil while pulsing some more. You may need to scrape the sides down with a spatula a few times.
Nicely done. Taste it and add more seasoning if desired.
You don't need alot of it, just a couple of spoonfuls is enough for a pot of bow tie noodles. Serve with some grilled peppers and lamb chops for a beautiful meal on a plastic plate in the garden.
All photos taken with my trusty S6 just today in my house and yard.
Why not try something new for your next meal!
My next meal, am going to add plenty of green vegetable.

Looks and sounds delicious!! I would opt for walnuts over pine nuts anyway. I would never even think of supplementing with spinach but that is a great idea also!! You are a man of many talents @edthecanadian!! ;)
