Nyala's Allecha
INGREDIENTS:
quarter cup onion
two garlic cloves
one tablespoon corn oil
one cup dried split green peas
half teaspoon turmeric
half teaspoon salt
three teaspoons hot green peppers
one cup water
INSTRUCTIONS:
Smash the peas. Set aside.
In pan over moderate low heat, combine fry the onion and garlic for two minutes.
Put oil and blend fry one minute more.
Put the smashed peas, tumeric, salt, and chili.
Blend well.
Put the water and cook three to four mins longer to lessen the mixture to a thick, green, well spiced puree.
