This is my oldest's favorite meal and my youngest's most hated.
Toby asks for chicken alfredo a couple of times a month. He knows I won't make it more than that unless the Bear isn't home. It's super rich, not a health food at all. Unless you consider that it isn't packed with nasty preservatives or artificial shit.
Anyway, here is what you'll need (I was making a 1/2 batch of this when I took photos so keep that in mind when comparing your ingredients to mine):
1, 8 oz package of cream cheese
1/2 cup butter, real butter...not margarine!
2 tsp garlic powder
2 cups milk
6 oz grated Parmesan cheese
black pepper
First, melt your cream cheese and butter together with the garlic powder in a sauce pan. Whisk as it melts.
Melted cream cheese, butter, and garlic powder
Slowly add milk, a little at a time. Continue to whisk.
Bring just to a boil. Add Parmesan cheese. Cook on low and whisk until melted. Add black pepper to taste.
That's it! You made some delicious homemade alfredo sauce! It wasn't even hard to do or anything!
Thanks for tuning in! Have a good one!
I’m excited to try out this version of homemade Alfredo sauce because I just love yummy creamy GOOD fatty Alfredo sauce on pasta. Mmmmmm. My cookbooks have a somewhat more complicated recipe and I ain’t got time for that, and I found the jarred stuff disgusting the one time I tried it, so I just don’t make it.
And I hear ya on the challenges of one kid liking something that the other kid hates! Mine are like that on nearly everything!!
Yummy, I have made this but I use fresh garlic that i saute in a bit of butter before adding the cream cheese.
Great idea! I wondered how I would go about using fresh garlic in it.
I want to try this!!! @powellx5
Well, get to cookin’, Kiddo!
Hahaha!!!
Mmmm! This sounds awesome and looks so easy! I may have to try this (and possibly add some chicken and bacon)
It is so easy! Give it a try!
Nothing beats homemade! I used to not care for Alfredo growing up and now I know why. On new years Eve we purchased some party foods, convenience items such as artichoke spinach dip and mozzarella sticks and the like. Wow, the sauces we're so gross! Chemically and not at all close to what you experience with real food--homemade goodness!
I hate that processed, nasty stuff. You can taste the chemicals and you just know it isn't good. Thanks for stopping by, @allforthegood!

Hmmm... you might have to ship that youngest one off to boarding school... lol! How can you NOT like alfredo?!
Right?? She hates it!
