Traditional Indian Okra
Ingredients
three tablespoons butter
one medium onion
one pound sliced fresh okra
half teaspoon ground cumin
half teaspoon ground ginger
half teaspoon ground coriander
quarter teaspoon ground black pepper
salt to taste
Instructions:
Dissolve butter in a large skillet over medium flame. Put the onion, and cook till tender. Add in the okra, and season with cumin, ginger, coriander, pepper and salt. Cook and stir for a few minutes, then reduce the fire to medium-low, and cover the pan. Cook for twenty minutes, mixing occasionally till okra is tender.
