The power outages continue at least in the area where I live, we spend many hours without electricity, that's why I am so far from Steemit, Venezuela there is no doubt that it is a very beautiful country, no matter how much we are going through, our country is big, I like to highlight its gastronomy, so today I am very proud of being Venezuelan and I share with my friends the recipe for our Banana Cake.
In Venezuela there are many variations, both in the ingredients and in the preparation or in its uses at the table, for its versatility and exotic flavor, I invite you to prepare it and enjoy this delight with a Venezuelan touch.
ingredients:
- 3 Ripe bananas
- 5 eggs
- 1½ cups of grated white cheese
- 1 bar of butter
- 1 pinch of ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch of nutmeg (optional)
- Oil for frying
- 6 tablespoons of shredded Papelon (optional)
- ½ cup of bread crumbs
preparation:
Cut a banana into slices lengthwise, heat a pan with oil when the oil is hot enough, fry the plantain slices, remove them as they brown and reserve on absorbent paper, if you prefer, you can make the Venezuelan cake with mashed potatoes. banana, without frying it. Use a bowl to pour the eggs, add the cinnamon, nutmeg and a pinch of salt, whisk lightly, until all the ingredients are integrated, then grease the chosen mold and distribute the bread crumbs inside, start to assemble the Venezuelan cake with a fried plantain mattress, the total process to follow is very similar to the one made when preparing a lasagna, in the next layer it places grated white cheese and 4 cubes or heaped teaspoons of butter, covers that layer with 3 spoonfuls of beaten egg, repeat the layers or floors until filling the mold, leave a space of approximately 1 cm between the cake and the edge of it, add as a final touch Grated paper, take the banana cake to the oven at 200ºC and cook until to set eggs, calculate about 15 or 20 minutes, wait for it to cool before unmolding and enjoy.
Trick
Cover the mold with aluminum foil, so that you do not brown the cover too much. Remember that Banana burns fast.
