Hey Steemians! Here is a favourite breakfast that I like to make for my son when he visits.
It is a very simple recipe and it doesn't take any longer than a normal breakfast meal to make, but it has a special feel to it. Therefore it makes a great recipe to make on birthday mornings during
Ingredients:
- 2 Slices of Brioche bread
- Greek yoghurt
- 1 handful of chopped strawberries
- 1 handful of blueberries
- 1 tablespoon of rice malt syrup
- 1 tablespoon of water
The final results:
Method:
Place berries, a tablespoon of water and rice malt syrup into a pan and simmer on a medium heat for 20 minutes.
Stir the berries and gently bruise. Simmer until the berries produce a consistent syrup.
Allow the berries to cool and for the syrup to thicken.
Lightly toast some brioche bread in the toaster. Place the cooled macerated berries onto the toasted brioche.
Top with with a generous dollop of Greek yoghurt and serve.
