During the cold and dreary days of winter, it is natural for all of us to want comfort foods. These are foods that taste especially good to us and raise our spirits. I have had several compliments on this easy to make cavatini recipe which is a comfort meal all by itself. If you like Italian foods such as pizza and spaghetti, you should love this. Just add any side dish that you prefer along with some garlic bread, and enjoy.
1 and 1/2 lbs. ground beef or ground turkey
3 Tblsp. chopped onions
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 2-lb. jar spaghetti sauce with mushrooms, or your favorite spaghetti sauce
1 8-oz. pkg. shredded mozarella cheese
1 pkg. sliced pepperoni (regular or turkey)
3 cups cooked regular or gluten-free noodles (shells, rotini, or elbow)
Brown beef or turkey with onions and peppers. Discard any liquid. Then combine these and remaining ingredients together in a 13x9 inch pan. Sprinkle some minced or powdered garlic, basil, and oregano into mixture (it helps to taste the mixture as you are adding these spices to make sure you are adding enough to your taste).
Mix all these ingredients well and cover pan with aluminum foil. Bake at 350 degrees for about thirty minutes. Serves 5-6 people.
Thanks for the receipe...Looks too much yummy...No words to describe..
Thank you for your comment. My family loves this recipe and I like that I can use gluten free noodles.
