Hello lovely readers, today I am sharing with you this simple dessert, Lime Pie, really similar to Lemon Pie this dessert is one of my favorites. Every time I prepare it I end eating almost an entire Pie, If you love Pie as much as I do this recipe is for you!
"Pie de Limon" | Servings: 8 Slices
Ingredients :
Crust :
- 2 Cups of crushed vanilla cookies
- Pinch of Salt
- 1/2 Cup of Butter
- 1 Tablespoon of Lime Zest
- 2 Tablespoons of Brown sugar
Filling:
- 400 gr of Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 4 Egg yolks
- Pinch of Salt
- 1/2 Cup of Lime Juice
Meringue:
- 4 Egg whites
- 1/2 Cup of white sugar
- 1 Tablespoon of White Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons of Water
- 1 Tablespoon of Lime Juice
- Pinch of Salt
Directions :
- To prepare the crust just melt the butter and integrate with the other ingredients, butter your Pie Mold and add your crust to it, then bake at 325 F / 160 C for 8 min and let it cool.
-Filling: Add ingredients to a bowl and stir until combine do not over beat just fold gently then poor the filling into your baked crust and let it cook at 325 F / 160 C for 25 min then check if the center is runny let it cook for another 5 min. - Meringue: In a pot make syrup with water and the half cup of sugar, let it dissolve.
In a bowl add egg whites, tablespoon of sugar,salt and integrate until you start seeing soft picks then start adding the syrup little by little, keep beating until the bowl is cool finish with the lime Juice. - Put the meringue on a piping bag and start putting on to of the pie then broil at 300F /150C for 7 min or until golden.
This dessert takes some time to prepare but its worthy of your time
