Cherry Vanilla Smoothie

in #recipes8 years ago (edited)

I will be posting about healthy smoothies and other recipes that I enjoy as part of my active lifestyle.  Since I have a 3 month old daughter and a husband to take care of everything I make is quick and easy.  Enjoy!

This smoothie is so yummy, only has 3 ingredients, takes 5 minutes to make and has less than 200 calories.  It is a perfect way to start the day.

  • 1/2 cup Vanilla unsweet almond milk
  • 1/2 nonfat vanilla yogurt
  • 1 cup frozen cherries

Put all ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.

How often do you make this? What other smoothies taste better?

I start every morning with a smoothie. One of my favorites is frozen pineapple, banana, spinach, and almond milk.

10/10 would make again

So happy you enjoyed it!

Wow... I still to develop to the point of getting smoothie every morning. I wasn't a smoothie type until my girlfriend talked me into it and then I got hooked.

Nice recipe! But how can be Dannon healthy?

This is what happens when I send my husband to the grocery store, I usually buy stoney field nonfat vanilla greek yogurt

Sounds delicious. Cant wait to try it.

I have to rename my account to get some recipe love? I see!

Thanks for this. Silk's unsweetened almond milk has a great flavor and is excellent for smoothies. Here's another formula you might enjoy:

75g frozen strawberries
75g frozen bananas
8oz unsweetened cashew milk
2T shredded unsweetened coconut
1T ground flax seeds
1T ground chia seeds
25g frozen spinach
1 scoop whey protein (I prefer chocolate flavor)

It's a little more involved, but it's quite delicious. Some people don't like adding protein powder, so I for them recommend trying half a cup of yogurt instead (go for skyr-style if you can). Cheers!

Looks great, I will give it a try. I haven't every tried the cashew milk yet.

Looks delicious! Thanks for sharing :))
