Favorite Food Bloggers On YouTube

Need some new inspiration in your cooking or want to learn some new skills? These YouTube bloggers will help you get going in the right direction.

Sometimes, burnout in the kitchen can happen. It can rather scary for some. You get caught in a rut with cooking, and find yourself cooking the same thing over and over.

For me as a food blogger, it was very hard to deal with. My family was dealing with moving across the country, having my adult children move home again, and loss in our family as well. To say I was burnt out is a understatement indeed.I found that we were eating out more often in a week than we used to in a month. Not good for the budget, or our health.

I took some time off and just watched some YouTube bloggers to get some new inspiration, techniques, and ideas. I wasn't disappointed at all. In absolutely no particular order, here are some of my favorites that you should check out. These are the channels I would personally binge watch all day, every day, if I could.

Adam Ragusea

An up to date Alton Brown, Adam brings the science behind the food as well as some delicious recipes. He can seamlessly transition to his sponsors and the creativity he shows with that is amazing. He's funny, laid back, and yet as serious about food as he needs to be.

He posts new recipes every Thursday, and other videos on Mondays. My favorite recipe so far is his Chicken Casear and chicken fat croutons. My family loved this.

Pro Home Cooks

Formerly "The Brothers Green" with two brothers, Mike has gone on his own and formed "Pro Home Cooks". He is the quintessential teacher, who can take even the most inept in the kitchen and make them a master. Mike has videos on fermenting, food prep ideas, and more.

His love for cooking and the WHYS of how food works really shines through with his wooden board and white board explanations. He posts new recipes every week. My favorite so far is making homemade vinegars. I am putting this to the test, and trying some new recipes I hope to share with you soon.

Simply Sara

This woman is the sweetest personality. I would love to sit and have a cup of tea or coffee with her. She's a true Southern belle, and her videos are very homemade. One of the things I love about her videos is her honest style, and the way she talks about her Mamaw. It's also heartwarming to hear a landline ringing in the background at times.

Her take on food is definitely comfort food as shown here, here, and here. I just love her calm, sweet manner, her genuine smile, and the comfort foods she creates. Her old fashioned bologna salad looks interesting, too. Her videos seem to come randomly, but most often she posts at least weekly.

Ethan Chlebowski

Ethan has a style that is very unique. His kitchen is spotless, with no clutter anywhere. It's useful, it's easy to clean, and to me it screams "get your act together, girl... you don't need 500 appliances.". He has some interesting tastes, as you can see in his love of crazy sandwich combinations, will show but who am I to judge someone's taste buds?

Ethan has a lot of great organizational tips for the kitchen, and his sodium citrate video has taken my mac and cheese at home to a whole new level. The science tips he shares in his pasta video still astounds me. He loves his food science, his salt pig, and his kitchen scale. He usually posts new videos a couple times a week.

Kays Cooking

I have to wonder if her channel started out as a joke, or she was really just a bad cook. Her first channel, Kay's Cooking had some of the worst, most disgusting recipes I had ever seen. Actually, her fried rice video was how I found her channel. But, her smile was genuine, and her charm was real. The way her son, Lee helps her with each video and her smile as he does the taste test is what kept me going back.

At some point, she started a new channel, titled the same, but not in all caps. She has really come into her own with recipes and cooking, and her nearly cult like following loves her and her Iron Maiden T shirts. You'll definitely smile each week watching her.

I hope you enjoy watching some of these channels and get some new ideas, tips and recipes to try. Check back as I will add more great YouTubers when I find them.
