Fried Morel Mushrooms! Hillbilly Style!

You got To Try This Recipe! Delicious

Prep Time - 20 minutes

Cook Time - 20 minutes, for frying each batch

1 pound of fresh morels

1 cups of flour

1 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of ground black pepper

1 teaspoon of garlic powder

1 teaspoon of onion powder

- butter or vegetable oil for frying

Step 1 - Slice large morels in half lengthwise. Drop the morels into a bowl of cool water and a dash of salt. let them soak for 20 minutes. Then rinse one last time. place them on a paper towel. Let drain for 2 minutes.

Step 2 - Put the flour and all the seasonings in a bowl. Then mix it all good.

Step 3 - Put enough oil or or butter into a large frying pan to come up about 1/4 inch. Heat up to at least 325°F.

Step 4 - While the frying pan is heating. Cover the morels lightly in the seasoned flour. When the oil or butter is hot, put the morels into the frying pan pan. without touching each other. Fry to a crispy brown.

Step 5 - When done frying. Remove the morels to paper towel on a plate to rest for 5 minutes.

Step 6 - Then enjoy your fried crispy morel mushrooms.
