A light and fun recipe for an alcoholic drink that anyone can make at home - if she has a lemon tree at home.
There is an old saying that if life gives you lemons, make lemonade. In this story, life gave me a lot of lemons, literally, or rather, my neighbor's lemons tree produces more lemons than the entire neighborhood consumes annually. So what do you do when there are too many lemons? Start looking for cool recipes that you can only do with lemons. And so my neighbor came to this nice, easy recipe of limoncello.
Look at this branch, full with lemons
Here, have some more lemons, and this only frome our side of the fens.
Original Italian limoncello:
Ingredients:
Peels from 15 lemons (only the yellow part)
1 liter of drinking alcohol 99% (obtained at the liquor store)
1.5 liters of water
400 grams of sugar
instructions:
1. Soak the lemons in the alcohol for 10 days.
2. Filter the alcohol from the peel.
3. Heat water in a pot, add the sugar and mix until all the sugar has melted.
4. Add the sugar water to the alcohol.
* If you want a lower alcohol volume, you can add more sugar water.
