RE: Song of the Day - Josie (Blink-182)

Mostly I'm a child of the 60s to 90s. I think I like quite a wide range, as long as they have melody, harmony or rhythm. You would think all music has at least one of those, but not to my ear.

I don't have the same knowledge of the right terms for some of the genres I'm not keen on as you. But I think the commonality in the things I dislike are that they're an extreme. I hate anything discordant, or anything too fast. Punk fast is a good speed for me, but faster makes me feel psychotic.

Rap - some of the old stuff was well done, (you know, with rhythm and wit), but I don't like most modern rap, especially gangsta.
Opera - not sure what romantic opera is, but maybe that's the kind I do like. It's not my favourite genre generally but there are some specific arias that I like a lot.
Jazz - I dislike most of it especially scat, but then there's the odd song I really like.
I don't "get" a lot of the modern classical. Hate Stravinsky.
I don't like metal that's extremely heavy, like Prodigy and some of the newer bands.
And some electronic music is very repetitive, too fast and irritating. Don't like Drum and Bass for eg. And after seeing Deadpool 2, had to check out Dub Step. Is there any electronica more ghastly?
