Thanks to one of my best friends Steven, he turned me on to a little thing called Red letter Media. Mike Stoklasa is the founding member and is accompanied by his friends Rich Evans, Jay Bauman, Jack Packard, and Josh Davis. Best known for their review on Star Wars Phantom Menace, like them, I am a movie buff, more over I enjoy watching all sorts of B movies. Recently I have been playlisting their stuff on youtube starting with the earliest to latest.
One of their skits or shows is called "Best of the Worst". More specifically they introduced a "wheel of the worst". This is one of my favorites. The premise is simple. The team are given random terrible movies to watch from their online audience or picked up randomly by themselves and they pin them on a roulette wheel.
The guys are full of funny puns and dry humor, which is my sense of humor, so every episode to me is hilarious regardless of what movie gets selected. In this episode, originally aired on September 18th, 2014, I was on the floor laughing out loud for one particular video. But let me briefly describe the chosen videos for this episode. By the way, special guests, Jim Maxwell and Colin Cunningham
First video selected
How can I tell if I am in love?
This was a terrible sex education video with host Ted Danson, which we can assume is there for community service hours:
It was pretty dumb, just awkward comedy skits and awful editing..oh and a young Jason Bateman
Second movie (my favorite) was:
the osteoporosis dance
I'll get into more detail why this one was my favorite, but it was more so due to the commentary and feedback from the crew than the actual video itself, which literally is about a bunch of out of sync old hags "dancing"...
Last movie was:
American Flatulators
Probably the worst thing ever to be put on video. It is a mimic of "American Gladiators" but with farting. Not funny in concept and definitely not funny in practice.
I think it even made Rich Evans break a fuse...
so back to the old lady dance.
One thing the Mike points out is how the choreography decreases over time and how out of sync these women get.
The trainer which Mike refers to as "Tay Zonday" is accompanied by two elder women, respectfully named "Betty" and "Linda"
As Mike, Jessy, Jim and Colin critic the ridiculousness, Mike can't help himself by stating the irony that the women are deceased and "nothing but bones by now" which literally causes Colin to laugh into tears
Most of the drama accrued from whether or not Betty will accidentally fall into the pot of flowers that have been poorly placed in the training room.
But what gets me, is just watching these women just lose their rhythm more and more and the commentary of the crew as this unfolds. It is one of the funniest things I have viewed from their videos.
Linda constantly fucking up was just golden
anyway, if you want to watch this here is the link
They are a fun group to watch and the movies viewed are true nightmares but fun to rip apart.
Enjoy!
