Congratulations on this milestone . You have literally been here through the beginning and you’re being rewarded now , imagine in another year how much will change . For me joining 6 months ago changed my life in so many ways .
I will admit that in my early months, I had some some frustrating moments, surely matching up with that most minnows felt somewhere along the way. Sometimes that future hope just seemed too far away to stick with it.
But even back then, our little group of friends reinforced that the people you're building up with now, will be the dolphins or whales in a year or so. While it is a long time, there are absolutely rewards on the other side.
While nothing is a guaranty in life...the potential is unfathomable. :)
Been a great experience for the both of us with many memories and getting the chance to meet this summer about a year later. Happy New Year, Thanks for everything, and best to you!
Absolutely!! I'm still amazed with what you've been able to do, able to travel, be a part of so many project, help so many people!!
I honestly wouldn't have gotten here without you!! Definitely hit me up when you're back around St. Louis! It won't be lavish, but I'd be more than happy giving you a place to stay...and maybe we could hit a poker tourney or two! Lol
7-8 people downvote my post on my first day without any reason but still i love steemit
and
now i'm earning 1-2 sbd here daily which is good money from my country point of view.
(i'm from Bangladesh actually)
very good blog
god bless you
upvote and resteemed !
I'm glad you stuck through that. I think a lot of people thought you were seriously trying to be him, versus being funny. Satire can get lost so easily online. Lol
That's great you're earning well so quickly! I've been a big fan of seeing how Steemit is able to help in a lot of countries where the $ goes such a long way! :D
You are a great member of the community, I wish I had been here in the early days to see some of this. I don’t know about the asshole account, that is hilarious. Many of the early birds I guess I know already though.
Thank you!
It definitely was an interesting time. Even just cultural things were different, like running contests like we see in various game, betting, etc posts were flagged for vote buying.
The asshole time was definitely interesting to say the least, lol.
You do likely know of alot of the really early users that are still posting, though many have left, or become more 'silent' on the platform.
Wow . What an experience. I am relatively new to steemit, to think that some of the features we enjoy now weren't there before.
I truly hope that in about a year from now ill have a story like this to share.
The community on Steemit is amazing! I've developed some really good relationships, and that is very valuable to me. I've been on since July and it's been a great ride so far!
It really has been amazing ride for you @sykochica! You have come such a far way on this platform in so many ways that aren't just financial. I hope Steem can do for me what it has done for you in the future.
Really amazing how it was really tough to get on the radar of whales for you then and other minnows. It makes me appreciate how generous you are to us minnows with your giveaways regularly :). Thank you! And cheers to another year and a half!
What a journey. I know your help posts made my transition into steem much easier. Many minnows would be lost without you! I also wish I lived closer so I could attend some of the awesome meetups!
This is very inspiration story and incredible journey . you mentioned all the legends of steemit in single post . Now i'm feeling very bad i waste my whole year in doing 'nothing' , i should be here one year before . Very nice post @sykochika and there should be no slider like before.
The timing of your post couldn't be better because as much as we complain about technology - it does connect us with a community of people that we didn't know existed.
Very interesting reads regarding the memories, as someone who is still very new it offers some insight of how the site used to be and how far it has gone. I hope you will still be writing for the next 1.5 years, or heck, longer than that! You are one of my fav peoples on Steemit and I thank you again for introducing me to the site <3
Wow! I already admire you @sykochica and I even admire you more after reading this. Thank you for sharing something so personal. Your Steemit journey is also an inspiration for newbies like me to fight to overcome the current struggles that we have. Steemit has definitely improved a lot from what you've experienced over a year ago. Thank you :)
Pretty much started the same as you. I had some idea of bitcoin back then, but i shrugged off the idea. Then came the Steemit platform and told myself this is too good to be true! Earning from blogging and curating, that was like WOW! But then the community hooked me, the diverse people in Steemit and the treasure troves of knowlegde, information and tons of enjoyment made me stay. So here i am, 6 months and still having a blast. :)
More power to you @sykochica, have an awesome 2018 and God bless! :)
Wow, what a beautiful post. So well formatted, so many memories, and still so much more to learn. i loved reading your post. thanks for sharing it with me. So proud of the journey you have had. Im excited to see what the next year will look like!
Well, @sykochica It takes a very special person to stand in her own skin and say, 'this is me'. To me you are one of the strong and beautiful people.
I commend you highly for standing for truth for yourself, and for those around you. Because it is clear to me that you do that.
I also commend you for taking a stand for this community for the best of the community, because it is also clear that you do that as well. Thanks for this post. As a new person coming in, it's nice to understand that there is always growing pains anytime you start something new. I think too many people treat things like this like the lotto. They just hope that their 'ship will come in'.
However, this is like starting any new endeavor or business. It takes dedication and consistency, and you my dear, are definitely dedicated. I really hope I get to meet you face to face someday.
Wow, fantastic post, great perspective, thanks for sharing, it's good for the new waves to understand the grind and sunshine it took to get things here / peace
Insightful and full of knowledge for a baitfish such as me. I can so relate to the intro in regards to not being social or having a clue about Amy of it and I'm looking forward to meeting and getting to know some new people on here such as yourself that we might all grow to be a better version of ourselves. Gracias
So interesting to read your journey from the beginning. Had to laugh (and AHH) at the makeup tutorial payout, followed by the drunken makeup tutorial! Your post was great, full of honesty and humor. Love the cartoons! Hope we all have a success story to write about one day and be able to look back and thank all that helped us with the journey.
wow steemit has changed the lifes and shaped many one of them too its just the beginning and we are the very first to be on this crazy adventurous ride :D
Wow, what a great history lesson from the early days. I have only been here 7 (8?) months but totally agree: behind all the crypto and techy stuff, there are real people who form awesome communities and it's these that drew me in and keep me here.
Really inspiring. Am kind of new in the platform. But appreciate every moment here. It's not very easy trying to understand the nitty-gritty of everything in the platform but gradually just like said in the post with time and the help of fellow steemians would be able get to step up and significantly also contribute to the community. Am encourage by your post @sykochica. God bless all those that have contributed immensely to the sustainability of the platform.
I have a greater appreciation for the Steemit Community now. Very well thought out and written. I listened to tid-bits of audio/video which gave me some new ideas...thinking to myself... Maybe I do have some good stories after all. Followed and Resteemed. P.S. Lol @ "Do you want to trade some ...coins" ...Elephant coins it's almost at the bottom because it's so heavy. ;) Thanks for the laugh this a.m.
Short of words after reading this post, I wish I could have reached out to you somehow and just gave you a hug! :) I think we all Steemians love you and whoever has chatted with you on steemit.chat just admires you!
I hope after 1.5 years every one of us would be looking back and thanking you not only for the help but also for inspiring us to do good.
As they say, success is not about the money you are making or the lifestyle you are living- But it is about the number of people you are inspiring every day! and @sykochica I think you are inspiring a lot many people just thru this platform! ... LOTS OF LOVE! :)
You are a true inspiration for everyone on this platform!! You selflessly help anyone that needs any kind of help!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your support over the last year! I wouldn't be where i am here with out you!!!!
Here's to a wonderful 2018 on Steemit. I really enjoyed your discussion about the positive side of Steemit. I agree, it is a very special place. And though it's the only social site I am on, one of the reasons I AM on here, is the postitive support for creativity and open minded-ness that prevails here. Little tolerance for intolerance, and hardly any conflict( well, ok, there has been some...but not really on an everyday basis).
Thanks for the look back and discussion about our last year or so on here. Great job coming up with all the historionics to present for everyone, particularly the newer folks. There certainly has been a lot going on in our long, topsy-turvy, yet fun ride. What will the next year bring? Hopefully great new things.
Happy New Year, and Full Steem Ahead.
There are so many other things I want to say more about. I been well over a year though not in anyway the same way as you and the crews you describe. But because I've been here in some way or another since the fall of 2016, THIS POST was a real treat to read. This was a lovely and generous story you shared. You are such a beautiful person and it shows in all you do. I loved all of this post.
I have so many things to catch up on, please do not take that as anything negative and please forgive me if I ever seem in anyway unappreciative of this steem community. For I truly see the potential of the steem community. THIS post is such a validating reminder of that potential. You alone are a valuable reminder of that potential. You are appreciated by so many people and I always look forward to seeing you in person. There are those people in this world that seem to be in a steady state of joy, as if always holding in a giggle. My very best friend from childhood, Dave is like that. There are many in the improv community like that. You are like that. It's infectious, that joy. And your joy manifests itself as generosity in knowledge and passionate actions for others. Whereever in the heavens did you come from?
I have been listening to Jackson Brown alot lately. I don't know why. But this song here has some lyrics about taking care of each other.
