ACEH BESAR DISTRICT

General description

At the time of Aceh remains as a kingdom, the kingdom of Aceh or Aceh was the region now known as the Aceh Besar district along with some areas that have become part of Pidie District. In addition, it also includes the island of Weh (Sabang city government now), some parts of Banda Aceh city government, and some region of West Aceh district. In Aceh, Aceh Besar Often called terms Aceh Rayeuk. The mention of Aceh Rayeuk Aceh as real as this area was originally the core of the kingdom of Aceh and also because therein lies the capital of the Reich named Bandar Aceh or Bandar Aceh Darussalam. Aceh Rayeuk to name a few named as Lhee Sagoe Aceh (Aceh Three Corner).

Currently, Aceh Besar is a county located in the southwestern tip of the province of Aceh, the capital of Jantho. This district is the starting point of Banda Aceh and the Aceh region of others Sumatra.
Prior to bloom in the late 70s, the capital of Aceh Besar is the city of Banda Aceh, Banda Aceh was then divided into municipalities so that the capital of Aceh Besar moved into the area in the mountains seulawah Jantho.

This district is geographically located at position 5,2º - LU to 95,0º 5,8º - 95,8º BT with boundaries as follows:

to the North by the Straits of Malaka and Banda Aceh city
South to the Aceh Jaya
to the East with Pidie Regency
to the West by the Indonesian Ocean
Aceh Besar district has an area of 2974.12 ± ² consisting of 23 districts, 4 Village, 68 Mukim and 600 villages.
