I actually did. But I used Snapchat... maybe cheating a bit. Not sure why she challenged me to do a make-up tutorial, that's her job. That'd be like me challenging her to write a 50 page document on stocks, finance and economics to my subscribers. :P

She challenged you because a few weeks ago we had @guerrint do This makeup tutorial post which garnered a lot of money. It inspired a lot of people to try to do clone make-up tutorials to get money. She knew her stuff and did a good job. Then the down vote brigades began and she and other early posters that were popular were hammered kind of like you were. They don't post much anymore.

There were so many people involved in cloning for a week or so that @roelandp was inspired to do First Male Make-up tutorial which is hillarious. He is one of the coders of some of the early steemtools and I believe steemtools.com is actually his site as well.

So @stellabelle was being nostalgic and requesting you participate. :)

The call out for the makeup tutorial was to show humility. I think it would have been the wrong move for @dollarvigilante - instead he gave a more down to earth introduction, but included the makeup picture.

A much smarter move, he'll do more for user growth and market cap than anyone else to date. That's what it's about right?.. increasing the pie

Yes, I knew it was a call out for humility, yet there was a back story to it as well and @dollarvigilante was not here during the relevant weeks in history of steemit. I simply shared so he'd have some historical context.

I am fine with how he did things. I also was not concerned about whether he humble himself or not. I do know why @stellabelle suggested it. There were people flagging likely due to perceived conceit/arrogance.

I agree with you though. This is more tasteful than emulating someone else. The fact he even did it on snapchat is pretty humbling. :)

@dwinblood, you're leaving out my own Hacker Makeup Tutorial! Mine scared the crap out of people, remember? And actually most that you mention are still active posters. @roelandp set the satire/absurdity tone a notch higher, like into outer space and I credit him with influencing me to make my own satire videos like My Account Was Hacked Makeup Tutorial

ahhh, ok, now it makes more sense!

It is one of those things, that "you had to be there to understand". But I was doing it out of an interest to bring you into the historical perspective of Steemit, which you were free to investigate on your own. I am glad that people informed you. If you knew anything about me, you would realize, after watching my own, that I have little to do with real makeup tutorials. I believe my video is the only one in existence on the topic of mixing my account being hacked with a makeup tutorial. I did my own clone one after @roelandp because I was so inspired by the absurditiy. I might scare you, but here's mine:

They don't post much anymore.

That's not true.

There were so many people involved in cloning for a week or so that @roelandp was inspired to do First Male Make-up tutorial which is hillarious.

That makes it sound like he did the video after all the clones when he in fact was the 2nd make-up video in general, if I recall correctly.

I don't know if it was actually the second. There were a ton of make up tutorials in new that I saw. Though they didn't trend. His is very different and totally worth watching.

As to it not being true... @guerrint has not posted much. Another person that posted a lot back then was @heiditravels (though not makeup related) and she doesn't appear to post very much either. As to @roelandp he posts on a diverse amount of things but I don't recall him getting hammered by the waves of down votes. The down votes were not enough to really stop them from making money but I do know they were noticed.

EDIT: I will concede that Don't Post much is subjective. @heiditravels went from posting daily to not nearly that much. Though it could be for other reasons, like perhaps not being somewhere she thought was worth posting about. @guerrint had almost immediate stardom, and posted another video that was slammed, and she went a couple weeks without posting anything. Though it could be for other reasons.

EDIT 2: You inspired me to research. I can see you were concerned with her lack of posting too, but unlike me you didn't assume... you asked. ;) Good job.

Yeah that was going to be my reply that you were maybe assuming a bit too many things at once. But decided not to reply since the tree ended and I am lazy. :P

Heheh.... I am human. I do make assumptions (and you know what they say about that) and sometimes a victim to an over active imagination leading to speculation. Plus, I've unleashed a portion of my active imagination I've had caged away for a few decades (aka @chaospoet ) which can sometime bleed over into my serious side and introduce some bad habits. I appreciate people like you keeping me sane and calling me out when I go out of bounds. ;)

It helps if you are drunk when you do it!

👍it's really good 😆

That GIF is awesome!!!!

EDIT: Makes me nostalgic for old Monty Python.

THAT'S IT. Anarchapulco 2017 DRAG SHOW! I wanna see all you voluntaryists celebs strut your stuff onstage!

I could do it, too. I'm a ghostwriter. The male makeup tutorial was a reference that you were not around for in early days of Steemit. Roelandp did the first male makeup tutorial after @guerrint raked in $15,000 for her makeup tutorial, which was the first one ever to appear on Steemit. You see, in the early days, like when I joined (2+ months ago), Steemit was a sausage party. I guess it's the historical aspect that needs a little explaining.

I couldn't answer you up above (or maybe below now) due to the nesting limit.
Sorry about that. Yeah I remember yours. I actually watched A LOT of makeup tutorials just to give people the benefit of decent curation. I'm a guy so most of it flew over my head, and I know far more about makeup than I ever wanted to. I would have been content to look like the guys from Kiss back in 1976 when I was 6. :)

But if they knew their stuff and put on a good production I tended to up vote it. :)

I didn't think yours was bad. I thought it was pretty funny.

There were SO many of them. @guerrint hit with that one and all these guys seemed to be convincing their significant others (or maybe someone they hired for the role) to make the next make up tutorial so they could get rich. @roelandp's was so left field and SO well done... I laughed my ass off watching him.

I've noticed the trending page is about as predictable as weather. One week it is all makeup and travel, then it is all crypto currency, etc. This is not a bad thing unless you happen to be a clone, which neither you nor I are. :)

Fantastic choice in colours.

Yes, I put a "u" in colour.

You should challenge her to do that! I bet it would be hilarious!!

damn, this is better than I had imagined!

@dollarvigilante oh wait, I did' scroll down far enough the first time until I ran into you 2nd stylish photo, you are really making my day. Maybe you can start up a makeup tutorial channel or something. Have a nice day. ☀️🌴

Just... damn!
