RE: Lets talk about Divorce, Kids, and abusive ex-wives?

in #relationships7 years ago (edited)

Oh bro, I feel you. I'm about to get divorced, going thorough very similar episodes with my wife, but we haven't reached the calling the cops level. I have just now started a post inspired by this turmoil.

She's very abusive, even tried to take away my son on a couple of occasions, her family openly threatened to kill me (or send someone to do it).

I am in the process of reaching out for legal advice myself. Not sure where you are from, but I'm sure the divorce laws are pretty much the same, blindly protecting women (I'm from Macedonia). Either way, I'll share everything I learn, maybe you'll find it useful.

One tip I would like to share, how I am starting my battle - recording everything on video, 24/7 surveillance. You don't need to actually buy cameras. This is how I'm doing it for now:

I have an older Android phone that I don't use anymore, no sim card. Installed IP Webcam on it, connect it to the charger all the time, stick it with a tape on the wall to view the whole room. The app records automatically, so get a large memory card.
The app will stream on a local webserver, and once you start recording it will give you an IP address and port where you can watch in real time (you can also set the app up to record on your PC, you can set motion detection, all kinds of goodies).

As an excuse, I say I'm doing it to watch my son when he sleeps while I'm working (luckily, she has to work as well so she forgets the camera is there when she comes from work).

So, for now, I'm gathering evidence, although a friend of mine just said it will all be dismissed and she'll get the kid no matter what. But I'll keep doing it because it's my only hope for now.

Please share any info you may find, I'd appreciate it!

Stay strong man, fight on!
