For the seventh installment of this songwriting challenge, I chose to feature a co-write I created with my partner Heidi Watson. As it turns out, both Heidi and I have recently been in major transition mode in our lives. We were both feeling the stress of life this particular week. Feeling the twists and pulls of life, we both decided to come together and collaborate on this song entitled, "Ebb & Flow", Sunday evening April 7, 2019. The writing session was just what we needed to unload our stress and put life matters in perspective for the Spring season here in the Northern Hemisphere in Appalachia.

The tune centers around the theme of the ebb and flow of life. The convergence, the turmoil, love, passion and overwhelming feelings that sometimes take place as we navigate the uncharted waters of oneness. Our song was more therapy and a way for us to communicate and converge in our feelings at the moment. We included the repeated quote from Plato, "Necessity is the mother of all invention" as a reminder of how we utilized our song craft as a means to create a conduit for us to communicate, when all other communication had broken down for the day. I must say that I am grateful for the opportunity to compose new music weekly and to share our craft together and with you all out in cyber space. Until next week, in the words of my good friend Jerry, "forge ahead". See you next week.

This is beautiful - I like the lyrics a lot and even more so knowing the song writing process as a dialogue between you and partner. BTW you should use #music as one of your tags to help people find you :) Much love - Carl
Thanks a bunch Carl!
