The flat earth

in #religion7 years ago

The earth is flat but we have been thought all of our lives that it is round like a ball which is wrong, and you might ask why cant we fall over the edge but we cant because of a high 200 to 300 feet wall of ice surrounding the ocean which the scientist call antactica a continent but its all wrong its the protecting wall so we human can not go beyond that line.C5yi9tcU0AA907_.jpg even the bible the holy book said something about it too that the earth has its own foundation with its own firmament but we have been decieved so we can not recognise the power of the creator of making us as the center of the universe and how special we are as a beigna27bcdb316db1161313cc583042b513f.jpg its good we do our own reseach thats why God gave us a brain.

Sort:

I've sailed from South America to Australia, crossing the pacific.

The flat earth theory doesn't make sense to me based on this experience. Here are my two main objections:

I. Nautical navigation
Judging from the top picture it would be impossible to travel from Panama to Brisbane setting a direct course. A sailor would constantly have to steer his boat towards starboard in order to avoid the ice wall.

Sailing from Galapagos to Australia me and my shipmate more or less kept the boat moving in a straight line for months. We relied on GPS-signals, compass, maps, but also the stars to keep a steady course.

If the world looked like the picture in this post we would have crashed directly into the ice wall before even reaching French Polynesia.

II. The horizon.
Sailing on the sea we could only see so far over the horizon, If we climbed the mast we could see further. Standing on top of a mountain in Nuku Hiva I could see far across the ocean, but I think I would have been able to see a lot further had the earth been flat.

Try and look through a good telescope at ships you thought went through the horizon zoom it and you will see the ships, if the earth was curve or round you will not see it

Fair enough, but the question about nautical navigation remains. If the earth was flat I would have had to set a course similar to what I have drawn below.

I know I would have noticed making a huge turn to starboard instead of sailing on a steady straight course for months.

Very happy people can not be decieve anymore
