God expects you to become a mature Christian. God expects you to read the word, know the word, study the word, and apply the word. Your Savior who died on the cross so you that you could be saved demands obedience and doesn't like excuses. So saying that reading the Bible is boring or church is boring or praying is boring doesn't cut it. There will be eternal joy for those who are obedient and who receive praise from Jesus when we meet with him at the Judgment Seat. There will much less joy for those with whom Jesus is not fully pleased.
To become a mature Christian you also need to pray everyday. I use the ACTS model of adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication. You should also go to church regularly to a Bible believing church where the pastor preaches from the Bible.
I like to listen to scripture based Christian music. It feeds me spiritually.
I sometimes listen to Christian podcasts like "Thru the Bible". You can listen for free and download the entire 5 year program at ttb.org.
Thank you for your take on being a mature Christian, @barncat, I like it. And thanks also for pointing me to ttb.org, this looks like a terrific resource I didn't know about.
