Bearing Fruit
This is about the most often talked about subject in Jesus’s words. To show how important bearing fruit is, here are 8 different scriptures that are about bearing fruit. These are the verses: Matthew 3:10, Matthew 7:15-7:18, Matthew 12:33, Mark 8:22-8:25, Luke 8:11 and Luke 8:15, Matthew 13:24-13:25, Mark 12:1, and Luke 13:6
Jesus explained how to bear fruit. In John ch15 Jesus says that he is the vine (the tree trunk) and we are the branches. The whole situation of being a branch and bearing fruit is to abide in Jesus and have Jesus in you. Joh 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
Ok now in John 6:56 Jesus says: He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him. There is more John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst. At the end of the parable Jesus says in John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. So this means that he who come to Jesus's flesh and takes his words as food shall never hunger, and he who believes in the blood of his sacrifice shall never thirst. That is how to abide in him.
Ok this is the explanation of what Fruit is. Luke 6:43 For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh. So fruit is words. This is the same reason that the word Angels mean Messengers. As you can see in this next verse an angel had words that were eatable: Rev 10:9 And I went unto the angel, and said unto him, Give me the little book. And he said unto me, Take it, and eat it up; and it shall make thy belly bitter, but it shall be in thy mouth sweet as honey.
Ok there are 3 ways that people don’t bear fruit. Below is a mixture of “the Parable of the Sower” from the book of Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Luke 8:11 Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God. Mat 13:19 When any one heareth the word of the kingdom, and understandeth it not, then cometh the wicked one, and catcheth away that which was sown in his heart. This is he which received seed by the way side. Mar 4:16 And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness; Mar 4:17 And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended. Mar 4:18 And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, Mar 4:19 And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh unfruitful. Now if you notice these three examples are stages of growth. The seed on the wayside is when the seed only lands on the ground. The seed on the stony ground is when the seed sprouts a little bit. The seed among the vines is the seed that grew long enough for vines to choke it. So once you get past the wayside then there is the stony ground, and so on. Luke 8:15 But that on the good ground are they, which in an “beautiful” and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with “cheerful endurance.
Words come from treasure. Spiritual Fruit is words. This should be no surprise, seeing that Christ’s word is food. If we abide in Jesus and him in us we bring forth fruit. The fact that abiding In Jesus Christ brings forth fruit, and that fruit being words, means that abiding in him also brings forth treasure. The treasure that comes with abiding in Jesus Christ is the kingdom of heaven. Luk 13:18 Then said he, Unto what is the kingdom of God like? and whereunto shall I resemble it? Luk 13:19 It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and cast into his garden; and it grew, and waxed a great tree; and the fowls of the air lodged in the branches of it.
