2 Peter 3:9
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as
some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to
us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but
that all should come to repentance.
During his vast citywide campaigns, evangelist Dwight Moody often devoted a sermon in each place to the subject of God’s promises. An associate explained, “He thought that very few of us ever fully considered how much our loving Father really had promised to us. These promises, like precious gems, were to be found in every book of the Bible.” Moody would sometimes ask audience members to shout out their favorite biblical promises, and the spirit of the room reverberated with one great biblical promise after another—all of which God has kept, is keeping, and will keep perfectly. He is not slack concerning His promises.
Had you been in one of Moody’s meetings a hundred years ago, what promise would you have shouted? Recall it now. Then remember: We have not just one, but every one of God’s unerring and infallible promises available to us. Moody himself kept one promise close to his heart, especially when he felt overwhelmed by his work. Perhaps it’s the very verse you need today: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. There is nothing too hard for You” (Jeremiah 32:17).
God never made a promise that was too good to be
true. ~ D. L. Moody

If you were to spend a month feeding on the precious promises of God, you would not be going about with your heads hanging down like bulrushes, complaining how poor you are; but you would lift up your heads with confidence, and proclaim the riches of His grace because you could not help it. God bless you @deathlyhorror
To take advantage of the last precious minutes, you've got to stay afield as late as the birds do, regardless of a houseful of guests, the sanguine promises you've made the missus, or the overdraft bank notice at home. To heck with everybody and everything when birds are feeding and fish are biting. Stay late and lie like a dog if necessary
So spiritual article @deathlyhorror. come other precious promises, including promises of peace, freedom, and blessings if we 'will but serve the God of the land, who is Jesus Christ'
Dear @deathlyhorror,
Two of my favorite promises of God are found in the Book of Romans:
for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Romans 10:13
The promise of eternal life in Christ
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28
The promise that in this life, all things work for the believers good and God's glory.
Be blessed, Steven @lastdays
I always appreciate your beautiful religious content. Keep up your great work.
God goes to his son not to judge him but to save all who come to repentance for him.
Dios es maravilloso su misericordia para con el hombre es infinitamente grande El no quiere que nadie se pierda
A Dios sea toda la gloria por su amor y comprencion para toda la humanidad
You're right. Men must fulfill their promises. The man said the man did (Мужчина сказал - мужчина сделал).
I have a bible of promises from God and I have not read them all because God has given us so many promises that even we have no idea all there is. The truth is that they are all wonderful and have the best for us.
The promises of God are incredible, it is our hope, great publication.
Very good publication, We all live by the promises of God
I love Moody's sermons, there is a special wisdom in each teaching. God bless you always dear brother.
GOD never made a promise bt GOD give us Heaven like earth.
God has promised us eternal life, he promises us riches, he promises us food, he promises us health. What more can we ask for? Just trust each of your promises!
Many people think that the promise should be received immediately, but we must remember that the new wine is not made in an old vessel, it is a process. The new wine must be poured into a new vessel.
The Word of God is presented as divine promises that were fulfilled in the past or are being fulfilled today.
Most of the promises that people claim are promises made to Israel and not the church. I trust God to be with me no matter what happens. I trust that God will provide for me. I trust that God won't let me be tempted beyond my ability to resist. I was widowed when I was 33. We lost two children that were stillborn. I have no illusions that life will be easy just because I became a Christian.
And it's worth saying that we don't have to "claim" the promises of God or treat God like He won't keep his word. God is not a man who forgets or fails to keep his word.
Thank you for sharing such great moments of the evangelist Dwight Moody. For us Christians we must keep in mind the promises of God for our lives. By the way, your article encourages one to continue in the work of expanding the knowledge of the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Receive a warm hug @deatlyhorror
