Habakkuk was a 7th century prophet (during the reign of Jehoiakim) and was likely a priest from the tribe of Levi and directed the music. In Habakkuk 1, Habakkok complains to God that the "wicked doth compass about the righteous." But God answers him and says that things are going to get worse...
Habakkok 1:6
6 For, lo, I raise up the Chaldeans, that bitter
and hasty nation, which shall march through the
breadth of the land, to possess the dwellingplaces
that are not theirs.
Habakkuk complains again at the end of Habakkuk 1 and in Habakkuk 2 God answers him...
Habakkuk 2:4
4 Behold, his soul which is lifted up is not
upright in him: but the just shall live by his
faith.
God tells Habakkuk that He does not regard the proud but the just (righteous) shall live by his faith. Righteousness is not puffed up, it is humble before God. Humility is a leading characteristic of faith in God and His Son, Jesus Christ.
Romans 1:17
17 For therein is the righteousness of God
revealed from faith to faith: as it is written,
The just shall live by faith.
"from faith to faith" means that believers walk in faith from the beginning of their belief to the end of their life when they will enter into the kingdom of God by faith. We are made aware of sin and of our guilt in sin by the law, but it is by faith in Jesus that we may live in righteousness...
Romans 3:20-26
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall
no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the
law is the knowledge of sin.
21 But now the righteousness of God without the
law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and
the prophets;
22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith
of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that
believe: for there is no difference:
23 For all have sinned, and come short of the
glory of God;
24 Being justified freely by his grace through the
redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation
through faith in his blood, to declare his
righteousness for the remission of sins that are
past, through the forbearance of God;
26 To declare, I say, at this time his
righteousness: that he might be just, and the
justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
Galatians 3:21-26
21 Is the law then against the promises of God?
God forbid: for if there had been a law given
which could have given life, verily righteousness
should have been by the law.
22 But the scripture hath concluded all under sin,
that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be
given to them that believe.
23 But before faith came, we were kept under the
law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards
be revealed.
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring
us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer
under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in
Christ Jesus.
Galatians 3:10
10 For as many as are of the works of the law are
under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is
every one that continueth not in all things which
are written in the book of the law to do them.
Those who rely on righteousness by following the law only are under a curse because it is written that if you miss one aspect of the law, you are guilty of the whole law. It is only by faith in Jesus and humility before God that we can be forgiven our sins and covered in the righteousness of Jesus.
Habakkuk 3:17-18
17 Although the fig tree shall not blossom,
neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour
of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall
yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from
the fold, and there shall be no herd in the
stalls:
18 Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in
the God of my salvation.
Joshua 1:8
8 This book of the law shall not depart out of
thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day
and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for
then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and
then thou shalt have good success.

very true @ephraimparker increase comes from God alone
we are the righteousness of God in christ Jesus. Righteousness is our nature, it is a gift that we received from God. no one can earn the righteousness of God by his or her good work. our faith is a powerful tool that enhances our language against situations and challenges.
I don't agree @souljay that 'Righteousness is our nature.' It is our nature to sin because of Adam and Eve original sin. Righteousness is the nature of the Lord and only through Him can we be found righteous. Thank you for commenting.
It was our nature to sin but now we are in christ we have the nature of God. So we are righteous in nature. Only unbelievers are still having the sinful nature. We are God's children now. We are no longer condemned because of Adam's sin(Romans 5:17)
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2:8-10
We are not saved by works, but once we are saved, the indwelling Holy Spirit empowers us to fulfill our calling and enables us do the works that God has prepared for us.
Thanks for sharing man of God @deathyhorror. Am blessed! Surely the righteous shall live by faith because;
Faith is the currency of the heavens whereby if we ever want any thing from the heavens, we must apply faith to get it.
God bless you abundantly.
Amen!! And true! Great comment! Blessings! UPvoted!
Thanks!
Excellent post there is nothing more pleasant than the trust we have for our God and in his divine justice, greetings @deathlyhorror, I hope your support in my blog.
Trusting God is actually a product of our faith in God. WE trust him because we have faith in him
Amen, that's right, regards.

Lord Jesus, it is by Your faith that I may live in righteousness...
Thank you for sharing this with us...I was truly blessed from it.
you are right, the law can profit us nothing but wrath. if the law could have made us righteous, Jesus would never have come. now we have the love of God all over us,God does not see our weakness. What God sees now when he looks at us is the blood of Jesus

Very good post! Thanks for sharing
This is really impartful and awesome. Thanks for sharing with us
You are 100% correct.
We owe all to the grace of God and not by our rightousness.
The Bible made it clear that our rightousness is like filthy rag befor God.
Isaiah 64 vs 6
It's only by his grace we are saved.
Good addition - thank you

Habakkuk 3:17-18 One of my favorite scriptures. Anyone can say they are living by faith, but it is when the world is crumbling around you, the real person we are emerges!
Also the entire world gets up, most go to work, come home, eat and go to bed! What is different about us that proves we are the just. What part is normal and what part is of faith? If every one can do it and is doing the same thing, what makes us stand out? We live by faith!
Yea, when things start to go wrong God has this interesting way of whittling down our pride.
Amen brother so is to seek first the Kingdom of God, blessings
Without faith no righteous can please God, it takes faith. Good one , pls also check,https://steemit.com/christain-trail/@alfredinho/living-carefully
Good post. Upvote for You:)
"Things are going to get worst" meaning hard times will get harder
"Faith by faith" means, work hard and have faith.. Change will come.
While the law condemns, faith raises and restores, faith in the name of Jesus is the key that opens doors to victory and prosperity. good brother theme
God hated the proud and love the humble. James 4:6- says: But He gives more grace. Therefore it says, "God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble." Thank you for the lovely message brother @daethlyhorror may the Lord give you more grace.
Blessings.

If only everyone puts God first. May the Lord help us all in Jesus name. Amen
Amen like this is God will forgive us but we must be wise with what we do, blessings
Without faith it is impossible to please Him and he who does not pleases Him cannot see His face i.e the kingdom of God. Good one to note.
Thanks for sharing this word, peace be unto us all
Thank you. God is willing to forgive us if we sincerely repent and beg for forgiveness. Our father wanta ua to also discover the path to success and prosperity by reading and meditating on his law, according to Joshua 1:8.
Yea,as believers we walk by faith and not by sight, the Christian walk is a walk of faith, and faith comes through the gospel of christ.
It is only by faith in Jesus and humility before God that we can be forgiven our sins and also grace..
this is deep...thanx for sharing this insight about faith
@deathlyhorror It is very important to strengthen our faith to establish communication with God through prayer and contemplation. We must retire at least once a day to listen to the words of the Lord to our soul and enjoy the promises that we have for the future. A bear hug.
