⛪The Authority of Priests to Forgive Sins

in #religion7 years ago

"You might assert, "GOD ALONE CAN FORGIVE."
CONFESSION (1).png

But, isn't the same assertion made by the Pharisees questioning the authority of JESUS to forgive sins (Mk.2:7)? True, GOD alone can forgive, JESUS alone can forgive, BUT we should also not discount the fact that, in many occasions, GOD has delegated His authority to His appointed people. Take for example the authority He gave the disciples to cast out demons, the "binding-losing" authority given to Peter (Mt. 18:18), and, of course, the authority to forgive sins (Jn. 20:23), among others."

Mark 2:10 But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins
Not one time will you find an apostle say that they themself forgive people of their sins towards God, only sins people committed against them personally

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Theres a reason he didn't say I am faithful to forgive sins, He said JESUS.

Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
So why yall still calling that guy in a white robe father, and the very seat of the catholic church is filled with idolic statues, come on now.
