The dictionary define religion in different ways all saying the same thing

Religion is the belief in and worship of a supernatural controlling power, especially a personal god or gods.

Religion is a particular system of faith and worship.

Religion is the way of life committed to by monks and nuns

Religion is any practice to which someone or some group is seriously devoted.

Religion is the faithfulness to a given principle; conscientiousness.

All these are definitions of religion extracted from dictionary. The bottom line is that we can't separate human being from religion. Religion is part of us.
In the world today, there are several religions numbering up to 4,200 different religions. So everyone belongs to a particular religion.

Every religion has its own doctrine which people of that religion practice. Today, I want to talk on the common belief of most of this religion or let me say what they do in common

God's representative on earth

Many religions have someone (a human being) who they follow and they believe this person is a representative of God or a messenger of God. They believe God sent the person to show people the way and lead them. Examples are Jesus Christ, Prophet Muhammad, Moses, Ramakrishna, Dalai Lama etc. Also the religion leaders today are believed to be sent from God.

Fasting is abstinence from food for some hours or some days. Many religions practice this and it is believed that fasting will draw them closer to God. It is also believed that fasting will make one to be able to do some supernatural things that can't be done naturally. Some also believe fasting is a way to discipline ones self and abstain from sins.

Giving arms

Many religions teach their people to give arms. This is helping the needy either financially or materially or in the sense of providing capabilities (e.g. education) free. Most religion teaches love and giving arm is a way to show love to others. Some religions also believe that the rich are created for the poor and the poor for the rich.

There are a lot of things that are common in many religions but I will want to stop here.

I am a Christian and I believe in the God Almighty, the I AM THAT I AM. I also believe in Jesus Christ as the son of God who came to this world to die for our sins. I believe in the Bible as the word of God which I read everyday and I fellowship with other Christians to worship God in Church. I pray to the Almighty God and I also fast to grow in spirit. I also try my possible best to help those in need in my own little way.

You are right, all religions has it's similarities, except for Christianity because it is a way of life. We emulate Christ as much as we surrender to the Holy Spirit for his teaching and guidance. We obey God' commandments because he love us first, therefore, we love him back. God has given us his good news of salvation(the gospel), his truth, his integrity, his salvation, his faith and his word. And we don't live for ourselves anymore but it is God lives trough us. The armor of God described in Ephesians 6:10–17 …16Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. 17And these signs will accompany those who believe: In My name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; 18they will pick up snakes with their hands, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not harm them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will be made well.”…◄ Mark 16:17 ►
1 Peter 2:9 King James Version (KJV)
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Praise God, our Heavenly Father for his grace endures for ever.

Thanks for this

In every religion, God is still God...Christianity shouldn't be a religion but should be a way of life.

You are right
