However, it could also be that God doesn't care if anybody believes in him.
Actually, it could also be that God punishes only these people who believe in him. :-)
As I don't know 'who' God is (assumed he does exist) I also cannot know if he prefers people who believe in him or people who don't believe in him. ;-)

Very true. Thus, technically you would have to make a bet on the existence of god and on his behaviour with regards to believers. However, the rewards would still be infinite if god exists and if he rewards his believers.
Really safe bets don't require so many 'IFs'. :-)
