The Holy Supper
Baptism: it is a symbol. It represents dying for the world and living for Christ.
It also means to immerse, Everyone who is baptized must be completely immersed or submerged in water. So also Jesus was baptized.
When a person leaves the water, already baptized, it must be understood that from that day he will live a new life. He will do everything possible to please the Lord and he is witnessing before everyone and the Lord. He is saying that he is another person, a new creature.
WHO CAN BE BAPTIZED?
-He who has believed the gospel of Jesus Christ
-The one who decided to turn away from sin
-The adult (because in the Bible there is no baptism of children, besides Jesus was baptized as a man.)
ON BEHALF OF WHO SHOULD BE BAPTIZED?
In the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Baptism is only an ordinance of the Lord. We are baptized to obey Him. Jesus Christ is the one who saves us.
Mark 16: 15-16
And he said to them, Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but whoever does not believe will be condemned.
THE HOLY DINNER.
It is a symbol that remembers the death on the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus said to do it until He comes for His church.
WHAT IS SERVED IN THE HOLY DINNER?
- Bread: Represents the battered body of Christ for our sins
- The wine: It represents the blood that Jesus Christ shed to cleanse us of our sins.
Mark 14:22
And while they were eating, Jesus took bread and blessed it, and broke it and gave it to them, saying: Take, this is my body.
Mark 14:24
And he said to them, This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many.
WHO CAN TAKE THE HOLY DINNER?
Those who are good with their neighbor and with God. Whoever takes this supper without being clean of sin, takes judgment from God because he becomes guilty of the cruel death of Jesus Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:28
Therefore, let each one prove himself, and thus eat of the bread, and drink of the cup.
