GOD'S EYES ON ME.

My spirit within me is weak,
The strength of my flesh is fallen
Because my Lord has chastised me.
His judgement, ever righteous has caught up with me
For the Lord is angry over my nonchalance and unrepentance.

My friends cannot help me for the Lord has gone beyond them;
He has overtaken my insurance.
My friends bow their heads in helplessness when they pass by me.
One word from one, a smile from the other
But what is this to me?
God is God and His eyes are on me.

Talebearers and gossips, at the corner, laugh.
They point at my back to their friends,
" The Lord has caught up with him, confident fool, this is his end ", They say
But I cry unto the Lord for mercy,
For it is not for this alone that I have done but those I had done.

The Lord is a merciful God, chastising those that He loves,
That the enemy's offence ahead might quell.
I have learnt obedience by the chastening hand of the Lord
And I shall fall no more to the schemes of the devil.

Now abate Your anger oh merciful God,
Restore Your Spirit to me, so that sorrow and pain drown me not
For it is only the living that can praise You
And I shall live to praise You and extol Your wise counsels.
All the days of my life, Your Spirit of obedience shall rule my actions.

Every honour and glory and power and majesty be unto You till everlasting.
