RE: What Do YOU believe about God?

And Philo T Farnsworth the inventor of TV was a devout Mormon.

The fact is that for those who want to know more about God there seems to be two paths. Read a book written in the bronze age, or explore his creations to uncover truth for themselves.

In this regard, I've always taken the parable of Adam & Eve eating from the Tree of Knowledge to be a parable urging us to explore and learn for ourselves, and of course dealing with the consequences rather than having these answers handed to us.

I have a lot more to say on this. And by a lot more I mean I'm debating whether or not I can fit it in a blog posting let alone a comment.

As always @stan you have some great insights. @casandrarose I promise to give you my views here shortly with something more thought provoking than a few quick lines hammered out while I sit at a traffic light :) Great post! Can't upvote right now because my power is depleted but as soon as it's up you have my upvote.

@williambanks, maybe we could work on an article together. I'd like to write one going into more specifics of the symbolism in the story of the Creation. This happens to be one of my personal passions.

However, I think there is a lot of insight to be gained from reading the scriptures. What is the saying, "When you pray you talk to God, when you read, He talks to you"? I think it's important to read and explore His creations. However, when you read, don't get caught up in syntax.

As always, thanks for reading and commenting!
