Were Adam and Eve both direct creations of God?
No. Adam and eve were created by the Demiurgus

Did God curse both Adam and Eve, or only one of them?
No. God didnt. The demiurgus did. And the demiurgus has no mercy.
Why did God place Adam over Eve in the marriage and family?
Adam and eve were once one and androgynous beings. They were clay but lacked soul. So the demiurgus tricked the key holder of the spirit to enter the new bodies were to be made a most great sin against God. After being seperated the demiurgus kept their fisical bodies enslaved to pain and torture and a life of suffering. But God was with them for they remained loyal to God despite being tricked and begged their forgiveness as it is has been written.
