RE: The Gospel of LUKE

in #reliquary6 years ago

He said to them, “How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken! Did not the Messiah have to suffer these things and then enter his glory?” And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. vv. 25-27

He said to them, “This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.” Then he opened their minds so they could understand the Scriptures. He told them, “This is what is written: The Messiah will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day, vv. 44-46

The lessons i glean from Jesus' words in the two scenes depicted in the above cited verses, is that Christ was conscious of His purpose from His toddling years (Luke 4: 17-19) unto His resurrection. Uniquely, He was always conscious of pointing the people to the scripture where it was written about Him. It therefore follows that we all seek purpose and live purposefully knowing that the creations are earnestly waiting for our manifestation. Thank you @reliquary for this piece.
