Thank you @reliquary for helping study the Bible. I have really digested this Chapter of Matthew and I will do well to share my views below:
- We ( true Christians) are the disciples of Jesus in this present age. Just as He summoned the twelve and equipped them for the task He sent them, Jesus has also equipped us and as sent us on a mission.
What is that Mission: That mission is the mission of spreading the gospel of truth and life. It is our whole duty to preach the gospel of truth to the lost souls. Many are wandering in the streets and this are the set of people that really need the message. Let's do well to obey this mission.
What actually takes a man to hell is the failure to accept Jesus and the message of truth. Just as it is written in the bible, it will be bad on that day for those who have heard the gospel but refuse to adhere to it.
Learn to sow into the lives of men of God, for in doing so comes a reward.
- Do not trade the gospel. I see many fellows that when called upon to share the message, they first of all ask how much you will pay. Jesus said:
Just as you freelyreceived, freely give!
Allow men to bless you with physical blessings on their own accord and will. Don't demand for it.
Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give.
Do not take gold, or silver, or [even] copper money in your money belt,
or a provision bag for your journey, or even two tunics, or sandals, or a staff; for the worker deserves his support
- If you are a disciple, learn to be a good one. Don't try to be faster than your leader. Respect authority.
