The difficulties and lack of transparency surrounding traditional rental acquisition processes internationally, has prompted the founding of Rentberry. Other industries have evolved over time yet property rental industry has failed to. Issues like submission of rental applications, bidding war experience with other prospective tenants and the strenous face-to-face negotiations with landlords influenced the decision to create Rentberry. Ads in print publications are still the norm even in present times. Agents and brokers sometimes charge substantial fees for minimal services. Even with perfect credit reports, employment histories and references, people still have to freeze lots of money for rental security deposit. International renters find it difficult qualifying to rent overseas because their credit scores and credit histories are only binding in their country of citizenship or in the country in which they are legally qualified to work and live in at the moment. Traditional rental acquisition processes are just time consuming, costly and stressful and this makes us think that the current process is inefficient. According to United Nations statistics, more than 244 million international migrants live worldwide and the Urban Institute predicts that 59% of new households to be formed by 2030 will be renting homes instead of buying them. For these reasons, Rentberry, a transparent and decentralized long-term rental ecosystem, has been set up to bring together both landlords and tenants thereby simplifying rental processes through its online property management technology that is based on blockchain. This ecosystem will have verified information on renters and landlords and will serve as a solution to rental acquisition processes globally as well breed trust between both parties by making the rental process less costly, more convenient and secure. RENTBERRY TOKEN
Buyers will be able to buy BERRY tokens with Bitcoin or Ethereum and BERRY tokens will be used within the Rentberry platform. Rentberry users must use an ERC20 compatible wallet to receive BERRY tokens that will be distributed after purchase and Rentberry holds the right to reject potential BERRY token purchases. BERRY token sale will begin on December 5th 2017 9:00 New York Time (EST) and will end either on February 28th 2018 23:59 New York Time (EST) or when the amount of received contributions reach $30 million USD as long as Rentberry may extend the Closing Date. If Rentberry doesn’t receive a $3 million USD minimum contribution on the closing date or on the last occasion that Rentberry extends the closing date, contributions will be returned to contributors. An initial total supply of 400 million BERRY tokens are allocated to token sale and the minimum amount for purchasing BERRY token is 1 ETH = 2,500 BERRY while the hard cap is a BERRY token equivalent of $30 million USD.
