A few weeks ago we received a great question from @wllmdnnd about @rePhoto as a service. Since we intend to be as transparent as possible when it comes to queries about our project we are always keen to respond but this particular question we felt was an important one and should be shared with all our followers and others interested in the @rePhoto project.

Q. Juts found out about @rePhoto. I like the goal and the manual curation aspect, but if people simply have to transfer some amount of SBD to get upvoted and resteemed, then there is no guarantee on the quality of the feed, or am I missing something? If the feed's quality is not top notch, then people won't follow it and the whole purpose is defeated.

A. Hey @wllmdnnd,
As a service, @rePhoto can be used by anyone to resteem photography content. With this resteem comes the possibility of a random upvote with a vote strength currently set at 33.33%. Since the cost of our service is no more than $0.10, the random upvote will return some of that cost - sometimes more as the price of steem rises.
Our manual rewards however are where we aim to really help minnows and those undervalued. @rePhoto's returns from people using the resteem service are put towards delegation, and as more people use it you will notice the delegation amount increase. When we upvote manually the vote strength is set between 75-100%, so a post that is worth $0.02 will increase to around $0.14 at this time. As our delegation increases along with the price of steem, so will the rewards, and that is when we will really be able to give back to the photography community. Of course manual curation is a big task, hense why we are advertising for another curator.
On top of this we also manually sponsor and curate particular photography contests!
Even though it is still early stages, we are happy with the progress of our project so far. If you have any suggestions on improvement, or any more questions, please let us know!
Thanks to @wllmdnnd for this query and although we did not receive a reply after this, we hope it was more than a sufficient answer.
If anyone else has questions about @rePhoto PLEASE get in touch with us. We are striving to be a big part of the photography community and although we have full confidence in reaching our goals and intentions, YOU, the Steemit community, will still play a massive part in it's success.
Alternatively, you can find out more about the project, how to use @rePhoto and troubleshooting by visiting our introduction page and reading our whitepaper.
Once again, we wish everyone the best in what they are here to do on Steemit and look forward to being a huge part of the photography community!

Great information and good news for people who want to reach a wider audience sharing their photos. Upvoted and retsteemed 😍
Cheers Paul, seriously appreciate your feedback and support as we continue to grow!
@rePhoto, sorry I omitted to reply to your answer. I was glad to read you seem to agree about the importance of manual curration to guarantee a feed of quality, which in turn would naturally bring more followers, and therefore more incentive for being resteemed by @rePhoto. I hope you can get there in a near future. Cheers.
No worries! Very grateful for your question. We have reached our first milestone of 250 followers and will be celebrating with a gift back to the community very soon.
Keep up your awesome photography Legend!
