About Flaggin.
..............................................................................................................................................................................
I hate to admit it since I'm normally perfect.
BUT..

RePost: Case 9: The @ecoworld conspiracy - identifying 4,766 + 1 cheating accounts

Gaming the system. Vote Farmers.
I've noticed that from the beginning. I thought only whales did it..but that's another story.

This could be serious left unchecked....and that's what the problem.

The only way (that I can see) is to fight fire with fire...in other words Flag em... and use 'bots.

Flaggin and Bots are the two things I hate most about Steem.

But...gotta face facts...much as I hate to admit it.

I was wrong.

Sort:

I used to believe to the contrary, but the recent steemcleaners and sherlockholmes reports have persuaded me that there is a place for flagging for those seriously gaming the system

As long as flagging does not lead to flogging but I fear it's a slippery slope.

Still wrestling with the problem myself LOVE HATE ...
As the numbers grow it will collect all the troubled minds that visit youtube and twitter and the others ...
Now how to deal with them as the issues grow ..what is small today will be big as millions join ...
But I do hate the idea of bots... this is supposed to be people driven ... and everyone wants fair ....

I'm sorry Everitt... I know you're anti flag. In most cases, so am I. But we're dealing with an element of bottom dwellers and termites that care not one tiny bit about Steemit, what it stands for, the community, creating content, consequences of their actions... they care ONLY about "how can I extract the next 1/10th cent from this system?" and will go to ends and means unfathomable to you and I to do just that.

There's no "reasoning" with them... we just have to meet them on their turf and smoke 'em out. Kinda like termites...

sad but true.

absolute positions are ALWAYS wrong at some point

;>

Yup.... it is getting bad.
I hope they figure out something for the next Hard Fork.

Using the 'game theory' to make money here, is sociopathic in nature, and from what I perceive, against the very ethos of setting up steemit . -

Zero regard to the consequences of action.

If that's all it becomes , it will become a place where the creative, don't wish to inhabit - and will find other places.

Gaming this system is a short sighted, non ethical, way of seeing things.

( I hate being wrong to - such an unfamiliar sensation)

accounts creation should be more limited so that you could not do things like that.....now flagging and bots are necessary....but it will be restricted as long as the system gets better...all the best...liked your posts, liked you, followed you, wish you the best and God bless you man
