Do you want to be a NINE?

in #reputation9 years ago (edited)

If you haven't noticed yet, steemit added a reputation system,

that is most likely used to fight the recent influx of bots that have appeared literally out of nowhere. This system will definitely prove itself useful over the course of the steemit platform. We have yet to see the reputation system prove its worthiness of the the GLORIOUS god, that is steemit.

The numbers don't go above 9.

the reputation system is like levels, but doesn't scale indefinitely. It's just a scale from -8 to 9 . Your level depends on what reputation people upvote you. Each step is 10 times more than the last. Also if a negative reputation person upvotes you, your reputation doesn't decrease, else this would be abused.

The benefits of having reputation system based on a scale not levels

The goal of the reputation system is to show how much quality content said person rolls out, not how many upvotes said person has in total. This means the reputation system is in place just to show users that that person is actually a person, not a computer pretending to be human. However I'd love to grind me some reputation levels that would scale indefinitely

FULL STEEM AHEAD!

I thought the number meant how sexy and attractive you are. Darn, isn't a 6 borderline ugly?

At least not a -8, Poor @wang

If its a scale out of 9, average would be a 4.5 so a 6 would be moderately sexy.

I'm sexy!

Damn right you are. Especially if you are zoe ;)

And you know it !

Thanks for explaining this!

Interesting, as a 6 I must be moderately sexy?!?!

It is interesting to look at this post. I remember when it first came out. You certainly had some great points about reputation.

It is also interesting to see that though you've been wreaking havoc for some time now, you still have a reputation of 44. C'mon man, you know that you enjoyed working hard on great articles and hoping that you'd get a decent payout. That is still a possibility for you. Though I may have a "rep" of 65, you still got more STEEM POWER than me, plus, you still have 78 followers.

That is a great position to be in.

I've got a serious suggestion for you, knock off the foolish and filthy stuff for a bit and try again. I'll follow you, and if I see that you're actually attempting to do something worthwhile, I'll upvote it.

I even think that in time, others, who you've obviously offended lately, may choose to forgive you and give you a second chance.

There is a real benefit possible for steemit and there is a real potential for you on steemit too, but if you keep doing what you're doing, you'll kind of just fade away...

Please let me know what you think. - @papa-pepper

Who has confidence??
I just think that you can do better than digital erections.
I do like the clown face, but I believe that you have been clowning around for too long.

Do you have any yogurt?

Was talking about clowns. I don't get your point. I have all kinds of flavors.

I thought that you might enjoy making some yogart and that I could pay you for a picture of it.

I also noticed - you cann't downvote someone if your rate is lower

I just flagged you for incorrect information.

I'm sorry, I was wrong informed in the beginning
This is true:
Those with weaker reputations are unable to harm the reputation of those with strong reputation.

the rep levels follow a log scale, so it takes a lot to go one louder.

But... these amps go to 11. Well why not just make 10 the loudest. Yeah sure but... this is one louder.

nice, i posted my first article just now and have become aware of the spam bots. This system should help.

Thanks. That is a useful explanation. I have noticed some real people have ended up with negative rep though. Is there any way for them to appeal?

using slack or rocket chat.
