So last week I came across an Atari Jaguar Emulator, Click here to download and been playing ROM after ROM each day for a couple of hours before I go bed.
So after not much time playing, I compiled a list of the top 5 games I am most drawn to playing every time I open the emulator up.
5 – Battle Morph;- If you can remember Star Fox for the NES you will get a good idea of what this game was like. The graphics are very similar but the Background is a little better, you can even fly under water. However the controls for this battle flight-SIM game are a little fumbley, even after I tried remapping them to different keys on my Xbox pc pad. Eventually I used the keyboard, and it wasn't too bad. The game itself is not that long. I completed it in just shy of an hour, but it was very entertaining non the less.
4 – Defender 2000;- This game reminds me a lot of Galaga, but scrolling across the screen back and forth and not straight up. And you start pointing left for some strange reason. You can collect power ups, different weaponry and more. The music is slightly annoying after a while, but the fast gameplay and smooth playability make this game worth playing.
3 – Iron Soldier;- When I got my first PC in the Late 90's I started to play a game that dominated my evening for years and eventually rising through the ranks with online gaming and tournaments with Clan Smoke Jaguars. I am talking about Mech Warrior battle net franchise. And this game reminds me so much of it. You control a huge Mech, free roam around small maps to kill enemies on the ground and in the sky even the building could be destroyed if you shot em or walked into them, it was way ahead of its time and a truly Awesome game.
2 – Cannon Fodder;- Point and click action shooters are just cool. I believe this was originally designed for PC but ended up on consoles. You take control of a small group of solders and you have to work your way around the map killing all the bad guys. Playing this on my pad was a little difficult, can't imagine what it was like on the original Atari pad. But once I switched to mouse n keyboard. It was very addictive to play.
1 – Alien Vs Predator;- this was the first title I downloaded and played. And it blew me away! For a 3D open world esk game, the graphics were very smooth and didn't look blocky. The aliens and predators actually look good. I've seen the aliens in crysis look worse. Multiple weaponry to choose from and collect, and at times can be scary when you hear the predators crackle type sound it makes. I loved every bit of the game, and now I want to play alien isolation after I complete it for the second time.
I always knew the Jaguar was a flop and didn't last long, but in the small library of games that were available for it, there were some gems that actually, were not shit.
Thanks for reading.

I owed the Jag when it first came out (unfortunately). The first game I bought was Alien Vs Predator and I loved it. So much so, I convinced 2 friends to buy a Jag as well (Face Palm). While there where some goodish games to be found, it really was a flop in an over-saturated market. I remember maybe 6 or more consoles to choose from at the time. I think the Jag, and the VR headset ended Atari's run in the console market. Shame as I had owned pretty much everything they had made. Including the 2600, Lynx, and 400 computer console hybrid.
Nice post.
Our old game.A part of our life when we was children.:)
Man I used to love playing 1080 snowboarding on N64...
This is terrific news. Well done!
