Today I will talk about a book that helped me overcome the crisis of motivation and stop worrying about trifles.

It is called "The subtle art of not giving a f * ck". The author is a popular blogger Mark Manson. In this book he writes about self-development in such a satirical, sometimes rude manner but says very important wise philosophical things.

1)Firstly, many of us have the misconception that happiness is a definite point which you can achieve through some algorithm.

For example,

if I get X, I'll be happy.
Or
if I earn for an article on steemit XXX SBD, I'll be happy.

However, here's a discovery: we can not be biologically happy. It's the secret of evolution. Our species has existed for so long precisely because something does not suit us and we change it, create something, we do not like sthis again, and so we move forward.

Problems will always be. Just there are exist problems better and problems worse. Happiness is not not in having problems, because it is impossible, but in solving them.

HAPPINESS IS AN ACTION, not something that comes falling down.

And the solution of today's problems is the basis of tomorrow's problems. Happiness is when I have problems that I like to have and decide.

2) The second misconception is that it is needed to be special.

We are surrounded by channels of information that show extreme:

the most intelligent or the most successful,
or as in the instagram - just woke up, but the most beautiful and with the styling
.

To admit that you are the most average in such situations it's like admitting that you are unsuccessful.

Many motivational speakers and authors of books unanimously say that you are special, not like everyone else. However, everyone can not be outstanding, simply because then there will not be outstanding people at all!

Secondly, in order to become outstanding in some sphere, it is necessary to invest in it so much energy and time that we can be outstanding in one thing, but in everything else we are average. Do not be afraid to admit that you are average. On the contrary, those who consider themselves average, work hard, develop and really achieve something.

3) The author writes about such a popular but so difficult to accept idea:

I am responsible for everything that happens in my life, regardless of external circumstances.
Like this? If someone hit me with hot coffee or was rude to me, am I also responsible for that?
In this case it is necessary to distinguish between guilt and responsibility.
It's not my fault that someone hit me with coffee. But I'm responsible for how to react to it. And here we always have a choice.

4) You can make mistakes.

It's a very unusual phrase, especially when you were taught from childhood that it's bad. But as soon as we realize that mistakes are a natural stage in learning and we give ourselves the right to them, it becomes much easier.
