The book will be ready in february, meanwhile more news oh and a book review.

in #review7 years ago

I wanted to do a little update on what is happening with the book.

So the book is called Arrival and Happy Endings, which is a murder mystery set in Bulgaria. A top journalist is not happy when her editor is assigning her to a paper supplement, she feels that her work will be devalued. She is sent to cover a story about a village that has been bought up by and Englishman called Mark Ross, but Mark won't do interviews for anyone. Lydia our journalist is sent to find out what is the deal about this village that Mark is creating, not happy with the prospect of being there, it's hot there is not much happening, until one night at a village event someone is shot dead.
The supplement story that Lydia was covering will end up being on every front page newspaper in the world.

So that is a bit about the book, I am now in the process of trying to get someone to design the cover, but I have very little money, but I do have my SBD so if anyone does graphic design, especially book covers I would love to hear from you.

More news.

In the light that Arrival at happy endings will not be ready until February, I have set myself a challenge I might need your help, if you can't help then resteem for me incase others can.
I am writing another book which will be a christmas romance this is totally unrelated to the other series that I am writing. I want to be done and dusted and have it on Amazon in 4 weeks in the run up to christmas.
There is going to be a promotion on with the book too, I am very excited and already I am 10000 words out of 43000 words in.

I need beta readers.

Once the book is written, which I hope will no be too long, I need five people to read it for me and look for grammar errors, in return each will get a final copy of the book in print, but it may not be until next year, given the fact I live in Bulgaria and I dont know how long shipping will take to get to you depending. If you think you would like to be a beta reader please let me know but be warned the timeline I need feedback is a week.

Book Review.

Now winter is setting in I wanted to share a book that I have been reading which the author has done amazingly well with 12 titles out this year, more than I ever thought possible for an author.

The book is called Pancakes and Corpses by Agatha Frost.

(Picture Goodreads)

This book is the first installment set in a fictional village in the cotswolds in england. This is a great little read to sit by the fire and get lost in a different world.
Our main character is a Julia South, a divorcee cafe owner who bakes. It did remind me of Murder she wrote in some ways, but more up to date which is something that I have been looking for. When one of her customers in the village has been murdered, one of Julia's friends is the prime suspect and Julia will do what ever it takes to clear her name.
Julia strikes me as 30 something lady with a 1940's fashion appeal the author mentions alot about Julia's clothing in the book. I get vintage tea party spring to mind.
While it is Agatha's first book, I am impressed with the writing style not far from my own I might add, and I would recommend it to anyone who does not read Murder Mysteries but would want something they could follow, I like how its easy to follow and helps readers understand, what things like a motive are and an alibi.

There are a few books in the series so you won't fall short I am going to start reading the next installment *Lemonade and Lies soon.

To see my other review on good-reads let me know if you use the platform and I can friend you.

I promise to report back more with the upcoming book progress coming soon.

Have a great sunday.
