The pursuit of perfection

A good film to reflect on the exaggerations of life, and rethink in their balances

The tireless quest for perfection is mastered in the musical drama Whiplash (2014). Written and directed by Damien Chazelle, the film follows the life of young student Andrew Neiman (Miles Teller) at a New York music conservatory. Student of the feared and respected professor Terrence Fletcher (J.K. Simmons), he wishes to become an excellent drummer.

To achieve it, the characters use bold and peculiar methods. A hangman teacher, tough and unscrupulous. And a fearless young man who is ready to do what is necessary for his dreams, even if he does not have to renounce his family, his friends and his love relationships. Apparently, a perfect pair. However, the unfolding of the story holds great surprises.
