Hello, friends!

World premiere of film "The Curse", created by American, canadian and Japanese filmmakers in horror genre, took place on January 1, 2020. In the Russian box office, this film was released on January 16, 2020, and it can also be found on Internet on sites that provide online movie viewing services.

I have repeatedly made sure that you should not watch remakes of films if you have seen the first film made on this topic. You will have to compare both films, and as a rule, the original story will seem much better than its copy, even if it has its logical continuation. So it turned out with this film. It is unlikely that I would have watched it if I had read the reviews about it in advance - too large a percentage of negative.

Well, since I haven't read them, and, even if I didn't get much pleasure from watching this movie, but I'm not going to scold him either. As well as watching the film of the same name, shot in 2004-too.

The idea of the film is not new. Stories about haunted houses, so-called cursed houses, are quite a lot filmed in modern cinema. But more often it happens that it is the main characters who live in these houses, and here is a slightly different picture. The cursed house, located in a small town, where two years before the events described, there was an inexplicable, brutal murder, the death of a well-off family, terrifies the local residents. Even the police avoid it. To get a curse, you don't have to live in it, just go inside and that's it...

A person who did not know the history of this house could decide to investigate this case. This turned out to be the main character of the film, a female investigator who recently moved to this city with her young son to forget about her misfortune.

The plot of the film is quite interesting, with constant references to the past history. It is developing quite dynamically, but at the same time it seemed to me a little boring with a predictable ending. There are very few scary scenes in it, this film is more suitable for the genre of detective and drama than horror. Yes, there are moments when you can get a small surge of adrenaline, but not enough to consider this tape a real horror movie. It is more associated for me with a good detective Thriller.

The film stars Andrea Riseborough, Demian Bichir, John Cho, Betty Gilpin, Lin Shay, Jackie Weaver and other actors. They all did pretty well in their roles.

I recommend film to my friends and acquaintances, however, as for me, it is unlikely that you will want to watch it more than once. But then again, maybe someone will like it more than me.

Pleasant to you of viewing!

See you soon, thank you for your attention!

Sincerely yours, @mrfantastis.
