The slogan of the film - "Let go of our sins" - speaks for itself, as if emphasizing the main line of the plot, according to which the events of the film take us to medieval England, at the beginning of the seventeenth century, when the Inquisition was in full swing, the witch hunt was in full swing, when people were sentenced to death only on suspicion of an insidious act. The court existed only to create the illusion of justice...

So it happened with the young girl Persephone, who was unjustly accused of witchcraft and put on trial, which immediately sentenced the unfortunate to death - burning at the stake...

And whether fortunately or unfortunately, she is saved from certain death by an elderly nun-mother abbess of a monastery located far outside city in a remote place, surrounded by high rocks and impenetrable forest thicket. Goal, it would seem, is good-to save the soul by repentance. That's just not everything was smooth in fact. Walls of monastery keep a terrible secret, learning about which Persephone tries to learn it and escape from the terrible fate of not only herself, but also to help other unfortunate girls imprisoned in it, because in addition to the young nuns who make up for their sins in the hope that they will be forgiven and go to heaven, ghosts and fiends...

In the film you will see a lot of truly terrifying scenes, a lot of blood, fights between Light and Darkness. I, despite the fact that I do not really respect the horror movies for the abundance of blood and absence of any coherent plot, I liked this film. Just in it there is a great story with elements of mysticism, with a legend embedded in it, with unexpected twists and intrigue that keeps you until very end. And despite fact that it seems quite complete, there is a feeling that the world is so fragile that at any moment it may again be on the verge of destruction.

The creators of the film managed to reproduce a fairly true atmosphere of the time, to show the life and customs that were in medieval England, for which they are special thanks!

The actors who starred in the film - Hannah Arterton, Michael Ironside, Rosie Day, Claire Higgins, Dylan Gwyn, Kiaran Mcmenamin and other actors did a great job with their roles. The characters they played looked pretty impressive.

A considerable role in this was played by actors engaged in dubbing into Russian. These are Eva Finkelstein, Alexander Kovrizhnykh, Olga Golovanova, Zhanna Nikonova and Marina Gassan. Their voice acting was peerless.

Director Paul Highet managed to create a great, chilling horror story, which is sure to appeal to all fans of films of this genre.

Pleasant to you of viewing!

Bye-bye, see you soon!

With respect to you, @mrfantastis.
